John Novachis

Executive Vice President

John leads the firm’s initiatives to attract top performing Advisors. He’s driven to help Advisors build a better business by helping them implement strategies to increase their operational efficiency and establish their personal brand while growing their business.

While obtaining his MBA at Queen’s and Cornell University, John developed an innovative new business model designed to support Advisors who are ready to monetize and transition their business seamlessly.

In his free time, he enjoys time with the people who helped him become who he is today – his family. An avid golfer, he's a huge fan of Toronto's major sports teams.

John Alexander

Vice President, Corporate Development

Over the past decade, John and his team have recruited and facilitated the transition of over 300 Advisors, with more than $7.5 billion in assets.

With over 30 years of operational experience, John has a solid understanding of the industry and issues that face Advisors today. This allows him to work with them to evaluate IPC's offering and break down the traditional barriers to growing their book of business.

Brent Kelly

Regional Vice President

With over 25 years of financial services experience, Brent’s diverse background provides him a fulsome understanding of the Advisor business from having been an Advisor himself to branch management and client experience.

Brent has been with IPC for 8 years and prior to this role was the Relationship Manager in our Private Wealth business supporting both MFDA and IIROC Advisors with their High-Net-Worth client offering. From his time in Private Wealth, he understands the importance of having a strong dealer foundation and knows firsthand what IPC brings to the table for its Advisors. In addition, he holds his CIM and IIROC licences giving him investment management knowledge.

A sports fan, his teams are the Montreal Canadians, Denver Broncos, and the Toronto Blue Jays. He loves to travel and spend time with his family.

Ken Lofranco

Regional Vice President, National Advisor Growth

Ken is a seasoned, investment industry-leader with expertise in dealer-change consulting, business development and succession. A dealer move can be a complex and overwhelming consideration for most advisors, advisor teams and portfolio managers. Before making a decision to switch firms, you’ll benefit by having a conversation with Ken as your first step.

It all begins with an open dialogue. Advisors need expert help to differentiate between dealer business models, navigate the risk landscape associated with dealer-changes, and synthesize their due diligence effectively. In Ken’s experience, these are among the most important considerations to achieve the peace of mind that advisors are ultimately seeking when deciding to change firms.

Unless he’s with his son on the ice, a baseball diamond or a golf course, other passions that fulfill Ken are outdoor activities like waterskiing or snow skiing, and the indulgence of cooking a great meal while listening to musical favourites with the people he loves.

Mary-Lou Martinez

Advisor Recruitment Specialist

Mary Lou Martinez is the Advisor Recruitment Specialist at Investment Planning Counsel. She is often the friendly, first point-of-contact that Advisors will connect with to discuss the possibility of joining the dynamic team at IPC.

Mary Lou has had over seven years of experience building and deepening relationships with Advisors to ensure they have all the resources they need to build, grow and transition their business.

Mary Lou and her family love baseball. You’ll often find her on the diamond managing her son’s baseball team, or watching games. She is also experienced in sign language having taken several courses at the Bob Rumball Canadian Centre of Excellence for the Deaf.
