Corrado Tiralongo
Chief Investment Officer
Profile Image

As Chief Investment Officer, Corrado leads a team of Portfolio Managers and analysts who are responsible for the design, construction, and monitoring of portfolios offered through Counsel and IPC Private Wealth. This includes providing oversight for the risk management strategies of the portfolios strategies. As part of this process, he also leads the team in the careful research, selection, and monitoring of every investment specialist on our roster.

Corrado believes that to truly understand how a specific combination of asset classes or investment specialists will add value to an overall portfolio, it is critical to go beyond the numbers - or quantitative analysis. So, in conjunction with the numbers, Corrado is focused on evaluating how the 'softer factors' - the qualitative data such as an investment team's people, their passion, philosophy, and process, just to name a few - can influence the potential outcomes of a portfolio. The sum of these two parts (qualitative & quantitative analyses), he believes, provides us with a more comprehensive assessment of the risk-return opportunities to better target an investor's goals and objectives.

Prior to joining Counsel, Corrado was a Senior Portfolio Manager at a bank-owned dealer, where he was responsible for overseeing the management of $16 billion in assets under management and the due diligence process of its external portfolio managers.

Corrado has over 18 years of experience in portfolio management and private client investment management and holds the Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) designation. He has an Executive Masters of Business Administration from the Joseph L. Rotman School of Business, University of Toronto, and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Economics from McMaster University.
