John leads the firm’s initiatives to attract top performing Advisors. He’s driven to help Advisors build a better business by helping them implement strategies to increase their operational efficiency and establish their personal brand while growing their business.
While obtaining his MBA at Queen’s and Cornell University, John developed an innovative new business model designed to support Advisors who are ready to monetize and transition their business seamlessly.
In his free time, he enjoys time with the people who helped him become who he is today – his family. An avid golfer, he's a huge fan of Toronto's major sports teams.
Over the past decade, John and his team have recruited and facilitated the transition of over 300 Advisors, with more than $7.5 billion in assets.
With over 30 years of operational experience, John has a solid understanding of the industry and issues that face Advisors today. This allows him to work with them to evaluate IPC's offering and break down the traditional barriers to growing their book of business.
Every great team is built on a backbone of coordination and logistics management and IPC’s Recruitment Team is no exception. Bill is the first point of contact for prospective Advisors and the “go-to” resource throughout the due diligence, transition and onboarding process for Advisors.
Bill is a strong believer in giving back to his community. He is a regular volunteer at the Bethal Hospice. Each year, he leads IPC’s fund-raising initiatives for Movember, as well as the company's participation at The Healing Cycle Ride – a charity that helps raise funds for palliative care in Ontario.
When he’s not on his bike, Bill unwinds to tunes he plays on his guitar.
As a Financial Advisor with over 25 years of experience, Rob is a key member of the recruitment team. He listens to the needs and wants of Advisors who are seeking to grow their business or develop an exit strategy. As a former Advisor himself, Rob understands the driving forces impacting the financial industry and the challenges of growing and managing a business in today's environment. He is passionate about helping Advisors build a better business and arming them with solutions to help optimize their book, scale their business or map out a business succession plan.
In his leisure time, Rob loves to travel and play golf .
Mary Lou Martinez is the Advisor Recruitment Specialist at Investment Planning Counsel. She is often the friendly, first point-of-contact that Advisors will connect with to discuss the possibility of joining the dynamic team at IPC.
Mary Lou has had over seven years of experience building and deepening relationships with Advisors to ensure they have all the resources they need to build, grow and transition their business.
Mary Lou and her family love baseball. You’ll often find her on the diamond managing her son’s baseball team, or watching games. She is also experienced in sign language having taken several courses at the Bob Rumball Canadian Centre of Excellence for the Deaf.
