Too many entrepreneurs dismiss their ideal future as a fantasy.
Something “nice to have someday” if all the stars align. But your ideal future isn’t a dream; it’s a blueprint. It’s not meant to stay abstract. It’s meant to guide your choices, fuel your creativity, and anchor your motivation, especially when things get hard. That’s why, in the Six Circle Strategy, the first and most powerful circle is Vision. Without it, everything else collapses.
If you’re ready to move beyond vague goals and into bold, integrated vision-building, here’s a simple but powerful self-guided worksheet to help:
#1 What’s your call to adventure—or your next big quest
Sit down with a blank page and write it down. And make it big. Bigger than what feels realistic. Bigger than what you think you can accomplish. Why? Because naming a bold quest—something that genuinely excites and scares you—pushes your thinking to a whole new level.
#2 Name every skill, resource, or relationship you’ll need to take it on
What do you need to learn? Who do you need to meet? What kind of team would help you thrive? What tech will scale your impact? What kind of clients are you called to serve? Make a list. Be specific. Then do the research. The key is to shift from “I can’t” to “What would it take?”
#3 List all the reasons your plan won’t work
Yes, seriously. Write down every obstacle, every fear, every voice in your head that says, “This is a terrible idea.” You don’t need to silence those voices—you need to understand them. Let your resistance show itself.
#4 For every challenge, brainstorm at least three ways to overcome it
This is where vision turns into strategy. For each obstacle, write down three practical tactics you could try. Maybe you don’t have the money now—but you can bootstrap, pre-sell, or find a strategic partner. Maybe you lack a skill—but you can learn, delegate, or hire. Creative problem-solving is a muscle. Flex it.
#5 Measure your milestones
Big visions are built in small, trackable steps. Want to hire two people in the next year? Write it down. Want to triple your revenue in three years? Name it. Tracking progress makes your vision real. It keeps you accountable.
Your vision is a living system. When it’s clear, everything else—strategy, execution, growth—starts to align.
